This game was incredibly calming, yet sad. I have never lost a family member to such a cruel illness, but I can not imagine the heartbreak of watching someone lose themselves. I wish your grandmother could see this game, this experience, and know that she was loved so deeply by her grandchild, despite her condition.

Such a beautiful and "real" game. I lost my grandmother to dementia, and ... this really rings so true, subtle, beautiful and sad, respectful of the pain and love and loss.

Yknow, I see a couple people in the comments here with eight pieces. And so I'm sitting here, trying to find that last bit, thinking that realistically those fish pots are beyond full... That kinda really drags the theming together, some people move on, others are clinging to every memory they get, begging for that next little glimmer, that one little story they don't have yet. I lost my grandfather to dementia, it was tough. I don't have much else to say about it, I can barely type this much without welling up. There were times while we were waiting where I hated him, between the disturbing things he'd end up saying or injuries I got because we tried to keep him mobile without realizing he was just too far gone. I know it wasn't his fault, he wasn't there anymore... It still just hurts.

Great game, I sincerely thank you for making it

Calm fishing with Grandma

Loved the game! Truly a great story with a nice art style.

May she rest in peace and in a greater place.

This was really nice! Going through memories and seeing how feelings go around, it's something that's really interesting and can change in time and with perspective. Was a  nice game with a fun mechanic and story!

heres my memorial/garden <3

i absolutely loved this game, it both makes me calm and also sad(even tho im not in the mcs shoes, which says a lot)

I love the intentionality of having the player form a memorial amongst the resurfaced memories. Taking the time to place each leaf, flower, shell, and mushroom let me linger and sit with the music and the thought, to relate with the character. Really masterfully done.

This was a masterpiece, i loved every second of it

your game starts at 12:45

Beautiful game. I like how it feels both alien and deeply human at the same time, especially those nubbly tree-lings growing out from the chopped off stumps. This game feels the same way as they look to me, an open wound never really healing, but slowly becoming overgrown by something new and different.

here's my little sand garden.

i plan on playing this game when my grandma and nana pass. great game, though it did make me cry. but, i think that adds to the value. <3

This is a perfectly beautiful game.

She won't make it much longer. We all know it. Mom seems so stressed when we see her, and everytime we can't

This game made me cry, my great grandma had a stroke which caused her to lose her memories.. this game is beautiful with an amazing art style.

What I really enjoyed the most about this game is the relaxing music, the beautiful artystyle, and overall the  calm ambience

Bonus:
One bone got stuck on my hand lolol but here's my work of art

What a beautiful, enigmatic game. This captures something beautiful about how we remember and grieve without belittling or romanticizing it. I really love this.

Coming from someone whose grandfather had dementia, I appreciate this one. Pleasantly melancholy experience. Like how it starts as a simple fishing game and turns into something more introspective.

So so so pretty! beautiful game that touches on harder subjects that many people similarly experience.

this was a beautiful game <3

what a gorgeous little game. phenomenal work!

the art is phenomenal! what program did u use?

(+1)

Thank you! I used the tools Photoshop has for doing pixel art (so really any program that allows working in pixel art would work the same). I really enjoy doing this MS Paint-style workflow for gamejams as it makes working/exporting assets so much faster C:

love the artwork!

what a beautiful way of representing loss. the art style of this game was what pulled me in at first sight, such calming, melancholic and magical colors... very peaceful yet thoughtful and heart breaking. dementia, as fear and sorrow inducing as it is persists in inspiring the most beautiful of art, thank you for making this :)

An absolutely lovely little game with a great atmosphere, ambience, and story to tell. Wasn't what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it regardless.  Thank you for the lovely game!

noice chill game

"It's not what time steals... it's what it leaves behind"

Short. Sweet. Beautiful. Loved it.

This is a very poignant game. Thank you for making it.
